El documental comparte las historias de cinco artistas cuyas familias huyeron de El Salvador durante los conflictos armados de los ochenta
From the team that brought you LA MANPLESA: AN UPRISING REMEMBERED comes LAS MUERTES MAS BELLAS DEL MUNDO (The Most Beautiful Deaths in the World), a story of the Salvadoran diaspora’s struggles and humanity through the eyes of artists who fled El Salvador’s civil war in the 1980’s, landed in the nation’s capital, and created art out of war. The film follows a poet’s journey to find answers and healing through his writing of the title poem and interweaves the portraits of Salvadoran-Wachintonian artists, including a dancer, photographer, and musicians.
This event will also serve as the official launch of Quique Avilés' new handmade accordion book of the entire poem, which serves as the film's title, Las Muertes Más Bellas del Mundo/The Most Beautiful Deaths in the World. This bilingual art book is a binational collaboration between Quique and the Yellow House Collective in Washington, D.C., and, from El Salvador, artist Roberto Alexander Ramirez Villatoro ("El Choco") and designer Eliseo Platero.

Los creadores de LA MANPLESA: AN UPRISING REMEBERED presentan LAS MUERTES MAS BELLAS DEL MUNDO (The Most Beautiful Deaths in the World), un cuento de las historias de cinco artistas cuyas familias huyeron de El Salvador durante los conflictos armados de los ochenta. El documental sigue la odisea de un poeta que intenta conseguir respuestas y sanación a través de su poema “Las Muertes Más Bellas del Mundo”, y entreteje las historias de artistas salvadoreños-wachintonianos, incluyendo a un bailarín, una fotógrafa y varios músicos.
Este evento también servirá como lanzamiento oficial del nuevo libro de acordeón artesanal de Quique Avilés, que contiene el poema completo que da título a la película: Las Muertes Más Bellas del Mundo/The Most Beautiful Deaths in the World. Este libro de arte bilingüe es una colaboración binacional entre Quique y el Yellow House Collective de Washington, D.C., y, desde El Salvador, el artista Roberto Alexander Ramírez Villatoro ("El Choco") y el diseñador Eliseo Platero.
