Please join us for a Tuesday Night Movies screening of the documentary “The Rhythm of Jamaican Art”.
The Rhythm of Jamaican Art - Shedding a light on the complexities faced by Jamaican Contemporary Artists.

The Rhythm of Jamaican Art introduced by Emmy Award Winning Actress Sheryl Lee Ralph
showcases the rich culture and history of Jamaican Art featuring Jamaican artists in Jamaica,
and the diaspora, with a focus on emerging Jamaican Artists while speaking to the state of the
Jamaican/Caribbean Art ecosystem. Featuring National Gallery of Jamaica Chief Curator O’Neil
Lawrence, Guggenheim associate curator Ashley James and artist Storm Saulter.
Written and directed by award-winner John Campbell and produced by Tiana Webb-Evans.

John Campbell is the founder of JCINTIME, LLC, a film and television production company.
John is the writer, director and producer of The Rhythm Of Jamaican Art and the recent
docuseries, Who’s Behind Black Art (Xfinity/Comcast NBCUniversal), also the feature, COLOR
(Comcast NBCUniversal). John is co-executive producer, with actor David Oyelowo, on the film
5150. Previous credits include The Sleeping Negro; A Boy, A Girl, A Dream (Amazon Prime),
starring Omari Hardwick and Meagan Good; Destined; The Infamous Future (HBO Max).
Upcoming projects include Color in Nature and Gimme Shelter. John is the founder of the 501c3
JCINTIME Creatives Foundation supporting young and emerging creatives.

Tiana Webb-Evans - Founder of Jamaica Art Society

Producer
Tiana Webb-Evans is lead producer on the documentary The Rhythm Of Jamaican Art. She is
the founder of Jamaica Art Society, an international network of art professionals and patrons
dedicated to the preservation of Jamaican visual arts history and to the support of its future
leaders. Tiana is also owner of ESP Group LLC, a leading brand strategy and communications
consultancy that collaborates with international clients across the art, design, and hospitality
industries. She is also the creator of Yard Concept, an experimental cultural platform dedicated
to fostering greater collective consciousness through art, design, and community.

Thomas F. James - Curator & Cultural Worker

Moderator
Thomas F. James (b. Washington, DC, 1994) is a curator and cultural worker based in Baltimore, MD.
Taking a critical-creative approach to exhibition-making, his practice has been described as one that
blends the visionary with the quotidian. Grounded in an interest in curatorial practice as a tool for
experimental critical discourse, James focuses on translating expansive ideas through storytelling,
cross-disciplinary collaboration, and embodied, participatory forms of cultural production.
His work seeks to create approachable yet rigorous engagements that foster intentional reflection,
meaning-making, and collective learning as pathways to intellectual exchange and community building.
He holds an MA in Culture, Criticism, and Curation from Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London,
and a BS in Business Administration from Frostburg State University, with additional training in curatorial studies
at the Unschool of Curating and in arts leadership at the New Art School Modality.
James has curated exhibitions at institutions including the Banneker-Douglass-Tubman Museum,
the Museum of Contemporary Art Arlington, and The Phillips Collection; and he has held leadership
roles including Inaugural Executive Director of The Last Resort Artists Retreat, Director of Visual Arts at Creative Alliance,
and Chair of Exhibitions at the Eubie Blake Cultural Center.
