Enjoy both the 1976 and the 2012 versions of the classic romantic movie "Sparkle".
Patrons, 19+, will love July's double movie feature "Sparkle". "Sparkle" which originally debuted at movies theaters in 1976, starred the late Irene Cara and actor Phillip Michael Thomas with original soundtrack by Curtis Mayfield, is the story of a three young sisters from Harlem who form a singing group. In 2012, Tristar Pictures released a remake of Sparkle, starring the late Whitney Houston and actors Carmen Ejogo and Jordin Sparks. The later movie also features Mayfield's lush soundtrack as well new compositions by producer, musician R. Kelly. The fun begins at 2pm with the original version, followed by a brief discussion and then at 4pm, we will screen the 2012 version of the movie. Tuesday, July 30th starting at 2pm.
