New Chevy Chase Library and Community Center Design Kick Off

Meet the design team & tell us what you'd like to see in your new Chevy Chase Library and Community Center.

Join DC Public Library (DCPL) and the DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) for the first community meeting launching the planning and design process for the new Chevy Chase Library and Community Center. 

This kick‑off event will introduce the project, highlight modern approaches to library and recreation center design, and invite residents, including frequent users, occasional visitors, and neighbors who want to help shape the future of the Civic Site, to share what they want to see in their new library and community center. The agenda will include: 

• Welcome remarks from DCPL Director Reyes-Gavilan and DPR Director Freeman 
• A presentation on modern library and recreation center design trends  
• Facilitated roundtable discussions on programs, services, and how the two facilities should relate to each other and the broader community
