Join us for an evening of wonders, wondering, and butterfly effects.

It is almost as if a butterfly fluttered past and brushed Concopia’s cheek with its wing: Danish author Lea Korsgaard’s extraordinary book, The Butterfly Season, was published in the United States the very same week we opened The Concopian Chamber of Wonders in Washington, D.C.

This book is alive with the same attention to the wonders of nature, the endangered human skills of our time, and the possibilities for reenchantment that are at the heart of Concopia.

And as if that weren’t serendipitous enough, Lea—who will be traveling all the way from Denmark to New York on her book tour—has found a way to make a special detour to Washington, D.C., just to join us for this conversation salon.

Over the course of two hours, guests will explore The Concopian Chamber of Wonders through intimate Concopian conversations; hear Lea tell the remarkable story of the year she set out to see every species of butterfly found in Denmark with her own eyes; and listen in on a conversation between Lea and Concopia’s creator, Nadja Pass, about curiosity, nature connectedness, and the unexpected places our fascinations can lead us.
