Join the Library, the National Museum of the United States Navy, and the Navy’s premier chorus, the Sea Chanters, as they explore the songs, shanties, and traditions that helped sailors endure long voyages, build teamwork, and maintain morale at sea.
During this family-friendly program, the Sea Chanters will perform traditional sea shanties while museum staff interact with the band and guests to provide information related to the musical group and provide a historical background to the sea shanties.
Come discover how the rhythm of work, music, and shared experience helped carry the Fleet.
