Join DC Public Library, the Office of the People's Counsel of DC and the Public Service Commission of DC for a forum on data centers impact on our local region.
Amid ongoing debates about data centers (the warehouse‑like facilities that house the computer servers powering everything from everyday online services to large‑scale artificial intelligence) this event invites the community to slow down, get clarity, and dig into the issue together. Through community‑driven questions and a panel bringing together firsthand expertise in energy regulation, utility operations, environmental advocacy, and community impact, this forum is designed to help participants weigh the tradeoffs for themselves and form their own informed opinions.
Adam Carlesco of the Office of the People's Counsel of the District of Columbia will facilitate a community discussion amongst participants to surface questions, concerns, and areas that need clarification related to data centers.
Ted Trabue, Interim Chairman of the Public Service Commission of the District of Columbia, will facilitate a panel discussion on data centers' local impact featuring panelists with expertise in energy regulation, utility operations, environmental advocacy, and community impact.
