Pick up a poetry packet inspired by The Crossover by Kwame Alexander as we celebrate Black History Month, the 100th anniversary of the Newbery Medal, and our DC Family Read!
Come by the Capitol View Library to pick up a poetry Take & Make Kit inspired by The Crossover by Kwame Alexander. This kit is available while supplies last as a joint celebration of Black History Month, the Newbery 100 Celebration, and DC Family Reads. While this kit is geared towards school-aged children, it includes activities good for the whole family.
The Crossover is the DC Family Read this February! Families around the city are invited to read and discuss this excellent book about basketball, brotherhood, and family!

Each kit contains a packet to inspire you to be a poet, information on The Crossover and DC Family Reads, a Winter Challenge gameboard, and a poetry-inspired craft activity.
