In New York, a group of black women, most of whom live in the same Harlem apartment building, faces personal crises, heartbreak and other challenges. Based on the choreopoem by Ntozake Shange. “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide, When the Rainbow is Enuf” is a choreopoem, which is a combination of dance and poetry. The poem was inspired by events in Shange's life, including her own attempts at suicide.
