You're invited to tour Takoma Park Neighborhood Library, one of the District's three Carnegie Libraries, and learn about how you can support us through a new Friends of the Library group!
This year, visitors to the Historic Takoma Home and Garden Tour can stop by the Takoma Park Neighborhood Library to learn about our brand‑new Friends of the Library chapter.
Did you know that although Andrew Carnegie funded the construction of this branch, it was community residents who raised the money to purchase the land at 5th and Cedar Streets NW?
Visit the small meeting room on the lower level to discover how you can help continue this tradition of community support. The branch manager will be available to answer your questions about the many resources Takoma Park Neighborhood Library offers. We’re more than just books! Come explore our programs for adults and kids and find out how you can get involved. This event is part of DC Public Library's ongoing recognition of America 250 and the Washington, DC stories that play a role our nation’s past and future.
The library’s accessible entrance is located on 5th St. NW. Please ring the bell, and staff will unlock the door for you.
