Enjoy watching the 1961 movie adaptation of Lorraine Hansberry's play "A Raisin in the Sun," starring Sidney Poitier.
Some of the best, most notable movies are based on novels. This series, From the Book to the Big Screen, will highlight movies that were first conceived as books. We're kicking off our first movie in the series with the 1961 version of A Raisin in the Sun, a play that was first brought to life on Broadway. Next month, we'll watch the 2008 adaptation. Be on the lookout for other classics and new favorites, including Gone with the Wind, The Manchurian Candidate, Les Miserables and many more!
