Ready to learn a game of strategy, skill, and tradition? Join Jennie Mak, The Mahjong Lady, for an exciting introduction to Hong Kong-style Mahjong! For players ages 8-13, of any level of experience.
Instruction will begin at 1:30 PM, for each date in the series.
Children ages 8 -13, come each week to learn and practice, the basics of Mahjong.
Recognizing the Tiles: Identifying the suit tiles (Bamboos, Dots, Characters) and honor tiles (Winds and Dragons).
Basic Rules of Play: Understanding the objective of the game, how to "pung," "kong," and ultimately "mahjong."
Social & Strategic Skills: Developing focus, memory, and patience in a fun, group setting.
Playing Mahjong offers a great way to introduce yourself to Asian culture while enhancing your critical thinking skills.
Parents are welcome to attend and/or observe, learning alongside their children.
