The Black Voices Book Club discusses books written by Black authors.
The April book will be When She Left by E. A. Aymar. Copies of the book can be placed on hold through the DCPL catalog. I also have two complimentary copies to give away; please let me know if I should put one aside for you by replying separately.
Anthony Award-nominated E.A. Aymar is an active member of Crime Writers of Color and Sisters in Crime. He runs the DC Noir at the Bar series, was born in Panama, and now lives and writes in--and generally about--the DC/MD/VA triangle.
In Aymar's fourth novel, When She Left, twenty-three year old Melissa Cruz can’t help falling in love with photographer Jake Smith. Complicating the new relationship is Melissa's current boyfriend, Chris Winters, a rising star in his family’s criminal organization. After barely escaping when Chris discovers the two of them together, Jake and Melissa find themselves on the run, with nowhere to turn and death around every corner.
