Local author David Patterson will give an author talk about his book The Pinchots: A Family Saga, on September 19, at 6 pm.
We invite you to join us at the Chevy Chase Neighborhood Library for an author talk with David S. Patterson. Mr. Patterson is a notable D.C. area author who will be discussing his book, The Pinchots: A Family Saga.
In America's Gilded Age, successful families forged self-made and powerful aristocracies, but history slighted a wealthy, influential family dynasty: the Pinchots. Outstandingly different from these and other business titans, this family is long overdue for recognition.
Author David Patterson's career includes teaching American history courses at major universities and his chief editorship of the longstanding U.S. Department of State series, Foreign Relations of the United States. The Pinchots is an outgrowth of his concerns about global environmental challenges, which Gifford Pinchot early confronted, and his interest in Amos Pinchot's commitment to civil liberties and peace. David received his B.A. from Yale University and Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. He and his wife live in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
