Create your own sculpture of Martin Luther King Jr.
Did you know? The Martin Luther King Jr. statue on the National Mall is very special. It’s the first memorial in Washington, D.C. dedicated to an African American leader. Dr. King worked hard to make the world a fairer and kinder place, and his statue reminds us of his dream for equity and peace.
In the children’s room, you’ll have the chance to celebrate Dr. King’s legacy in a fun and creative way! Using clay, you can mold your very own version of the Martin Luther King Jr. memorial. Think about what Dr. King’s message means to you—maybe you’ll shape a statue of him, a symbol of peace, or even a design that shows friendship and kindness.
This hands‑on activity is a wonderful way to learn, imagine, and create while honoring Dr. King. Supplies will be available while they last, so be sure to stop by and join in the fun.
