There are 24 iconic sneakers hiding in the children's room... find them all and redeem a special prize
A passive scavenger hunt in the children's room with a prize for kids who find all 24. The scavenger hunt will run from Feb 1- Feb 28.
This year, the Mt. Pleasant Library is celebrating Black History Month through SNEAKERS -- specifically, the historic Black athletes and designers who have changed the world through their talent, effort, and shoes. We are partnering with journalist, UMD Professor, and founder of Sneaker Theory PROFESSOR J to learn about how a single shoe can reveal so much about Black History, American culture, and economics.
There is also a ROBUST Sneaker Theory display in the first floor atrium, check it out!
Don't forget to join us on Wednesday, February 18th on the second floor Children's Room to learn about how JESSE OWENS and the 1936 Berlin Olympics forever changed both track & field and the sneaker market. We will be joined by University of Maryland student-athlete NYLA CHERRY who will be talking about life as an NCAA athlete and helping kids try out the long jump themselves.
