Reverend Dr. Otis Moss III will be talking about and signing copies of his new book, "Dancing in the Darkness: Spiritual Lessons for Thriving in Turbulent Times."
The event will occur in the Auditorium located on the 5th Floor. There will be a book signing immediately following the author talk. Loyalty Bookstore will be on-site to sell books.
Dancing in the Darkness is a life-affirming guide to the practical, political, and spiritual challenges of our day. Drawing on the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Howard Thurman, sacred scripture, southern wisdom, global spiritual traditions, Black culture, and his own personal experiences, Dr. Moss instructs us on how to practice spiritual resistance by combining justice and love.
With civil rights advocacy in his DNA, Rev. Dr. Otis Moss III serves as the Senior Pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, Illinois, and has built his ministry on community advancement and social justice activism. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Moss is an honors graduate of Morehouse College. He earned a Master of Divinity form Yale Divinity School and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Chicago Theological Seminary. His earlier publications include: Redemption in a Red Light District, and The Gospel According to the Wiz: And Other Sermons from Cinema. He co-authored The Gospel Re-Mix; How to Reach the Hip-Hop Generation.
