Ever wonder what it was like to walk with Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. during the Civil Rights Movement? Walking with King, our self-guided history walk, located in the nonfiction section of the MLK Library’s Children’s Room (second floor), is the perfect opportunity to find out!
Learn about King’s work, his legacy, and his continued inspiration as a human rights leader. Full of powerful images, this walk is a starting point for reflection and discussion on the six principles of non-violence, civil disobedience, social justice, and the “Beloved Community.” We encourage children (age 6 & older) and adults to take this walk together.
