Come read with us!
This month we'll be discussing the award-winning novel, New People by Danzy Senna, that discusses race, identity, and obsession. Set in 1990s New York, the story follows a twenty-something multiracial couple (Stanford's "King and Queen of the Racially Nebulous Prom"), who are planning a wedding. The relationship begins to unravel when Maria falls for a poet who she believes is her soul mate. What will happen to the pair when fantasy becomes fixation?
