About the Authors
Sierra Fisher is an emerging writer whose poetry and essays explore the quiet intersections of memory, emotion, and the human experience. Her work has appeared in Livina Press, Wingless Dreamer, and the WILDSound Writing Festival, where her voice has been recognized for its lyrical honesty and emotional depth.
Her debut collection of poetry, Wading in My Thoughts, reflects on cyclical themes of time and emotions. It is written in a traditional haiku format of 5-7-5; this style best captures the fleeting moments that thoughts occupy. The poems in this chapbook are reflective of Sierra’s current environment; her life has slowed down enough for reflection. Her hope is that the reflection that occurs in this chapbook will guide her and those who read it away from their past and step into the blank canvas of their future. Sierra will continue to use poetry to direct and inspire those around her.
Eileen Ivey Sirota is a psychotherapist, poet, and potter. Her poems have appeared in Calyx, District Lines, Beltway Poetry Quarterly, Voices: Journal of the American Academy of Psychotherapists, NewVerseNews, Ekphrastic Review, Lighten Up Online and elsewhere. She is the author of two chapbooks, Out of Order (Finishing Line Press, 2020) and Watching from the Bleachers (Finishing Line Press, 2024). Having been raised in a family of political junkies and activists in the Washington DC area, political and cultural issues infuse her poetry. She lives in Bethesda, Maryland where she oscillates between sputtering outrage and gobsmacked wonder (where the former is currently easily winning the race). Her poetry unites these two tendencies.
Kanimozhi Mv currently lives in Virginia and is a lead day care center teacher. She is passionate about poetry and has published eight books in her native Tamil language, among them are: என்றே புன்னகைக்கிறாய் - Endre punnagaikirai (You Are Smiling, which is a collection about the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, who was a successful statesman writer, poet, screenplay writer all through his life until he became involved in politics at age 92; he died in 2018 at 94 years old.) இரவின் சத்தங்கள் (Sounds of Night) and நெருப்புச் சிலிர்ப்புகள் (Fiery Thrills, which reveals her personal and random experiences in life). “I believe poem are capable of changing society for the better,” says Kanimozhi.
