The West End Library Friends: New Member Drive + Members-Only Book Donation Event
The West End Library Friends group, a.k.a. WELF, is collecting new & like-new books from newly registered WELF Members to sell at future book sales. New Member signups and Donations will be received in-person on Saturday, September 7, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m at the West End Library.
A large turnout of new member donors is expected. In order not to overwhelm Friends Volunteers, the maximum donation per member or new member may not exceed two (2) bags.
If you aren’t yet of the dynamic and growing West End Library Friends, please plan to join WELF in advance or on the same day, prior to making a book donation. Applications to become a new member of WELF are available near the front desk of the library, or conveniently enter your new WELF membership online here.
NOTE:
Do not leave books at the library or with library staff at any time.
Books donations will not be received by non-members.
ACCEPTED: limited to TWO (2) shopping bags per new member
New books, best sellers
Books for children, teens, and young adults
Collectible, antiquarian items, prior to 1950
Art, architecture, history, philosophy, science books
Media—CD’s, DVD’s, audio books on CD; Great Courses
NOT ACCEPTED:
VHS tapes, audio cassettes, or phonograph / vinyl records
Self-Help/Medical books that are more than 3 years old
Travel guides more than three years old
Magazines
Textbooks
Damaged or marked up books
Extensive collections of more than 5 books
All contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Receipts will be provided by the West End Library Friends.
