Get your library card ready and watch with us!
Join us for an online discussion of LGBTQ+ cinema with the Mayor’s Office of LGBTQ Affairs. Each month, we will watch a film from the Library’s Kanopy collection and discuss it together on Twitter using the tag #DCQueerFlix. Past films have included "Moonlight," "Strike a Pose," and "Reaching for the Moon."
This November we'll be watching the award-winning comedy "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" written and directed by John Cameron Mitchell. Based on the long-running New York smash hit, this film is a high-powered rock musical that tells the hilarious but emotional tale of a German glam-rock diva on a journey to find love and stardom in her new home, a trailer park in Kansas.
Note: For these events, we will each watch the movie in our own homes using the Library’s film collection, learn more at our Kanopy page.
