Join the DC Board of Elections (DCBOE) for a community townhall at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Library on March 11, from 4-8pm in the New Books area, to learn about ranked choice voting (RCV) and prepare for the upcoming elections.
The townhall will feature a presentation by DCBOE, Q&A, and hands-on practice. Presentation times are 4pm and 6pm. You can submit questions in advance to rcv@dcboe.org. Reservations are encouraged but not required.
Drop in at any time to learn more about RCV so you can be prepared for the upcoming elections.
Ranked choice voting is a voting method that allows voters to rank candidates in order of preference. Beginning with the June 2026 Elections, RCV will be used in DC for eligible contests with three or more candidates. Voters may rank up to five candidates, including write-in candidates.
RCV allows your vote to count towards another candidate if your first-choice candidate does not receive enough votes and is eliminated from future rounds of tabulation.
To learn more, visit dcboe.org/RCV for interactive tools, practice ballots, and additional information about RCV.
