A Cantonese-language conversation group to practice, listen, and connect. All levels welcome!
Do you know what Keanu Reeves, Michelle Yeoh, Bruce Lee, Jimmy O. Yang, Ming-Na Wen, and Ke Huy Quan have in common?
They all speak Cantonese.
Cantonese is one of the world’s major spoken languages and, alongside Toisanese (台山話), the language that helped build Chinatowns across America.
Come 飲 茶 (jam2 caa4) ☕ + 傾偈 (king1 gai2) with us at the MLK Library. Whether you’re reconnecting with your heritage or learning Cantonese for the first time, this is a welcoming space to practice, listen, and connect.
All levels welcome. No pressure — just conversation, culture, and community.
