Get help with your resumes, cover letters, applications, essays, and more! Our walk-in hours are now through the end of the spring semester!
Attention teens! Are you looking for a job that will accommodate your school schedule? Maybe you're trying to improve your SAT scores before you apply to your college of choice? Or perhaps you would like someone to look over your essay or research paper before you turn it in?
The Teen Services staff at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Library can help!
Come to the library's Alma Thomas Teen Space on Monday afternoon, and learn how to improve your resume, write a professional-looking cover letter, and other tips that will help you get noticed by job recruiters. Our library staff can also help edit or proofread your written assignments, review your scholarship application essays, and provide other guidance that will help you improve your writing and test-taking skills.
For the rest of DC Public Schools' spring semester 2026, the Teen Job Seekers and Writing Workshop will have walk-in hours on Mondays, from 4:00pm - 6pm, in the Alma Thomas Teen Space, starting on Monday, February 23.
Walk-in appointments will be on a first come, first served basis, but teen patrons who are unable to meet during our walk-in hours may schedule an appointment with the Teen Space staff by emailing the MLK Library's Youth Services department.
