A presentation about gentrification and efforts to save DC Chinatown.
Over the years, the declining size of the Chinatown neighborhood has become a concern in the District. Many Asian American owned small businesses have closed and longtime residents have moved away. Those who have stayed wonder what will happen to their neighborhood.
Nashrah Ahmed from Save Chinatown Solidarity Network will present how gentrification has impacted the neighborhood. She also will share current efforts by local residents and small business owners to be included in discussions and decisions about the future of Chinatown.
This event is in the Meeting Room on the lower level of the library.
