DC Bushwick Club presents new works inspired by The Thirty Names of Night by Zeyn Joukhadar.
The Bushwick Book Club will be returning to the Georgetown Public Library for Pride Month to present new works inspired by Zeyn Joukhadar's The Thirty Names of Night. Zeyn Joukhadar's beautifully and lyrically written novel of grief, resilience and self-discovery. It tells the story of Nadir, a young trans man seeking answers about his mother's death while searching for his self-identity and true name. It is also a story of community and finding one's place in the world across two timelines. The book received both Stonewall and Lambda Literary Awards. The Bushwick Book Club is the joyous intersection of indie artists and book nerds. Started in 2009 in Bushwick, Brooklyn, NY there are now 8 active local chapters around the word. The DC Chapter started in 2022.The program participating artists are: Ari Voxx (music), Boy Meets Pearl (music), Charlee Scythe (music), Kerri Sheehan (animation), Ronya-Lee (music), Selena Benally (music), Susan Hwang (music), Zhenya Parish (live painting). This event is free and open to the public. It is suggested for audiences 18+
