Learn about the historic Royal Golf Club and Wake Robin Golf Club, featured in the the Green Book in D.C. exhibit
Experience living history as we learn about the Royal Golf Club, the longest continuously existing African American men’s golf club in the United States, and the Wake Robin Golf Club, the oldest African American women's golf club in the United States. Come hear their story, view historic photos from the club's history, as well as photos from the library's archives.
The Royal Golf Club, Wake Robin Golf Club, and the historic Langston Golf Course are featured in the exhibit The Green Book in D.C.: "A Particular Place for Particular People" to complement the national, traveling exhibition, showcasing the more than 150 businesses and organizations right here in the District that were featured in The Green Book. A capsule version of this local history exhibit is currently at the Dorothy I. Height/Benning Neighborhood Library, as well as 7 other neighborhood libraries.
