Author Kiese Laymon discusses his new picture book with author Jason Reynolds
From the author of Heavy comes City Summer, Country Summer, a lyrical picture book about three Black boys who form a deep connection during a transformative summer trip down South to visit family. Author Kiese Laymon will discuss the book in conservation with author Jason Reynolds (Long Way Down, Look Both Ways). Complimentary copies of the book will be available on a first come, first serve basis thanks to generous support from the DC Public Library Foundation and Pepco.
This program is part of a series of programs aimed at teens focusing on the intersection of arts and activism. Know Your Power is a civic engagement arts contest for teens age 13 - 19. For more information visit dclibrary.org/knowyourpower.
