Bring your little one to read a book to a dog on the first Saturday of each month.
Come read to a neighborhood dog via our PAL (People Animals Love) program!
There is a mounting body of research that shows that reading to dogs can potentially be an effective tool in improving reading skills. As part of formal programs, some schools, libraries and homeschooling environments encourage children to read to a canine. The goal is to strengthen fluency and improve kids’ relationship to reading.
Give it a try or just say hi to a friendly canine in the Children's room! We'll run this program on the first Saturday of each month from 11:30 am - 12:30 pm.
Volunteer therapy dogs and handlers are all evaluated, vetted, and trained by the PAL program.
