Join us at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library as we celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month with a special program presented by Taal Academy of Dance.
Taal Academy, based in Washington, DC, specializes in teaching Bollywood and classical Bharatnatyam dance. Founded by Shuchi Buch in 2015, Taal (which means rhythm in Hindi) believes dance transcends boundaries and brings communities together.
At this event, you'll have the opportunity to learn about the rich history and culture of Bollywood and Bharatnatyam dance. This is a fantastic opportunity for both adults and children to explore music, culture, and rhythm through the art of dance.

Taal Academy of Dance is an Indian dance company that is based in Washington, DC. We teach Bollywood dance and classical Bharatnatyam dance. We welcome adults and children to explore music, culture and rhythm through the art of dance.
Taal means rhythm in Hindi and represents the essence of Taal Academy. After all, we were founded to give dancers of all skill levels the opportunity to experience the magic of movement and the power of performance.
We believe that dance transforms communities and brings people together. Dance knows no boundaries and it embraces and envelopes all.
