In 2020, Allie Tripp bicycled through DC neighborhoods on the Block Print Bike, a mobile printmaking studio she created.
In 2020, DC-based artist Allie Tripp launched a mobile printmaking studio called the Block Print Bike to create a socially-distant way to connect with her community during the pandemic. Using a grant from the Awesome Foundation, Tripp would bicycle through neighborhoods and create block printed postcards based on a neighborhood's flowers and gardens, then hand them out to residents at local parks. This talk will include a short video presentation of Allie's bicycling adventures, and will end with you being able to create your own block print post card.
This class will be held on the A level of the MLK Library.
ASL interpretation will be provided. For other reasonable accommodation requests, please contact DC Public Library Center for Accessibility via email DCPLaccess@dc.gov or call 202-727-2142.
