In this three-hour workshop, author Marita Golden will introduce everyday practices that everyone can use to ensure mental and physical health.
Time For Me: Self-Care for Mind, Body, and Spirit is a three-hour workshop led by Marita Golden author most recently of The Strong Black Woman How a Myth Endangers the Physical and Mental Health of Black Women. Golden will introduce everyday practices that everyone can use to ensure mental and physical health. Participants will discuss and briefly practice the most effective tools for ensuring relaxation and mindfulness.
Participants will discuss the challenge of setting boundaries, and how to say no to what overwhelms you and yes to what nourishes you. Participants will also discuss how to engage in the active care of the body. Participants will create an action blueprint to begin or enhance an existing self-care regimen.
The workshop will occur on Saturday, March 5, on Zoom from 10 a.m-to 1 p.m. The workshop is limited to 25 participants and you must register in advance to attend. Participants will receive the Zoom link after registering. Registration will close one day before the workshop.
Marita Golden is an award-winning author and veteran teacher of writing. She has led workshops on mental health and self-care for a variety of constituencies.
