For teens 13 - 19 at the Alma Thomas Teen Space at MLK Library. Join Amara Legal Center and DCPL for a session on healthy relationships, consent, and recognizing warnings signs of exploitation. 

Join Amara Legal Center and the DC Public Library for an education session on healthy relationships, consent, and boundaries. For teens aged 13 - 19. The event will be located at the Alma Thomas Teen Space at MLK Library. 

Understanding healthy vs unhealthy relationships helps people: 

• Protect their autonomy and safety
• Make informed choices about relationships
• Recognize early warning signs of exploitation

This presentation is offered by Amara Legal Center, which provides free, trauma-informed legal representation, access to support services, and advocacy for a more equitable legal system for individuals impacted by sex trafficking or involved in sex work in the DC-metropolitan area. Amara knows that many human trafficking situations and other forms of exploitation occur within relationships, not through strangers. Strong boundaries and other healthy relationship tools help to prevent exploitation and can also support healing from past experiences.
