Join in the retelling of Mufaro’s Beautiful Daughters: An African Tale
Participants will share the story of Mufaro’s Beautiful Daughters by John Steptoe. Together we will read and act out the story of Manyara and Nyasha, the beautiful daughters of Mufaro who have opposite personalities. Manyara is selfish and bad-tempered and Nyasha is charitable and kind. They go before the king who is choosing a wife.
This event celebrates Black History Month, Beyond the Book, and Winter Challenge.
It is intended for children 5-8 and their adults.
A craft project will follow the story.
