Celebrate Black History Month
February is Black History Month. Share the ways you feel informed, encouraged, and inspired by Black history with your own artwork!
Young people ages 5-19 are invited to enter the "How Black History Inspires Me" Art Contest. Winners will be selected from the following ages groups: teens (13-19), school-age children (9-12), and young children (5-8). Winning artworks will be displayed in the library.
Participating artists may use any 2-D or 3-D medium of their choice, i.e. painting, collage, or sculpture. However, we ask that entries be no larger than 12" x 14" for display purposes (3-D entries should not be larger than 12" x 14" x 6").
All entries are due by Friday, February 25th, 2022 by 5 p.m. Please drop off the artwork to the Petworth Neighborhood Library and attach a label with the student's name, age, school, and contact information.
