Meet The Sports Junkies as they celebrate 30 years on the air. Score a limited-edition JP bobblehead and share your D.C. sports story for the upcoming Hail to the Fans exhibit!

Be among the first to collect a limited-edition JP bobblehead—the first of four figures in the Sports Junkies series! Fans can take photos, get autographs and share the memories that define D.C. sports. Bring a photograph, jersey, T-shirt, ticket stub or another keepsake connected to your favorite sports moment for consideration in DC Public Library’s upcoming exhibition, Hail to the Fans: The Spirit of DC Sports.

Event Highlights

• JP Bobblehead Giveaway: Bobbleheads will be distributed one per person on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
• Meet The Sports Junkies: Take photos and get autographs from the 106.7 The Fan hosts.
• Share Your Sports Story: Tell the exhibition team about the players, teams, traditions and moments that shaped your D.C. sports experience.

What to Bring

The exhibition will celebrate fans of every D.C. team, league and era, including the Capitals, Wizards, Commanders, Nationals, Mystics, Spirit, D.C. United and local high school and college teams. Possible exhibition items include:

• Photographs
• Jerseys and T-shirts
• Pennants and ticket stubs
• Personal stories, family traditions and game-day memories

Temporary-loan: Items selected for the exhibition will be considered for temporary loan. Contributors will retain ownership, and loaned items will be returned after the exhibition closes in October 2027. Exhibition staff will explain the loan process before accepting an item.

About Hail to the Fans

2027 is a once-in-a-generation convergence for Washington sports. The District hosts the NFL Draft for the first time, a completely renovated Capital One Arena reopens, and construction for the new Commanders stadium begins. By 2030, all of the District's professional sports teams will play within the city. But, the Story of D.C. sports can’t be told without fans. Hail to the Fans: The Spirit of DC Sports will showcase the history and culture of Washington’s professional sports teams through its fans. Sports serve as the vehicle for telling stories about community, identity, family, and shared experience across the region. The exhibition will document the memories, rituals, loyalties, and shared moments that connected neighbors, families, and communities to their teams and to each other. This exhibition will use sports as a powerful lens through which to explore community, identity, civic pride, and resilience.
