Closing out our first-ever SNEAKER MONTH with a day of sneaker-themed films and shorts
This year we’re celebrating Black History Month at Mt. Pleasant Library through SNEAKERS -- specifically, the historic Black athletes and designers who have changed the world through their talent, effort, and shoes. We are partnering with journalist, UMD Professor, and founder of Sneaker Theory PROFESSOR J to learn about how a single shoe can reveal so much about Black History, American culture, and economics. In addition to exhibits, a scavenger hunt and a special long jump program - we are hosting a sneaker-themed film festival!
The Sneaker Film Festival runs from 12-7:45pm on Thursday, February 26th in the library's Large Meeting Room.
