The DMV Digital Navigator Summit is an annual gathering for digital navigators, tech helpers, and digital inclusion advocates working to directly support DC, Maryland, and Virginia residents.
Join DC Public Library for our 2nd annual Digital Navigator Summit:
The DMV Digital Navigator Summit is an annual gathering for digital navigators, tech helpers, and digital inclusion advocates working to directly support DC, Maryland, and Virginia residents in confidently accessing and navigating life online. The focus is on the practical hands-on work, be it in adult education, workforce development, libraries, upskilling communities, or otherwise.
Last year was our inaugural summit, with over 100 participants from 50+ different organizations. This year, we’re thinking about how we can share resources, skills, and ideas regionally in order to strengthen our work in a sustainable way, even when our resources are limited.
A day of connecting with other practitioners and building skills with the goal of strengthening our network, with several opportunities for you to share about your work:
Ways you can share your expertise
The breakout session proposal window is now closed, but don't worry! This is event is designed to be interactive and participatory; there are still two ways you can share your expertise with other attendees. Both are great opportunities to position yourself as a thought leader, build opportunities for impactful collaboration, and hone your public speaking skills:
1. Pitch your hot take at our lunch time Hot Takes Competition: We’re excited to debut our first‑ever Hot Takes Competition at lunch- quick, engaging 3‑minute pitches that spotlight bold opinions, overlooked truths, or big ideas shaping digital navigation today, a unique version of something like:
2. Share your most useful resource during the resource exchange networking hour: we encourage participants to share your number one most useful resource for other digital navigation practitioners (think handout, template, workflow, tool) OR one thing you think would be most useful to residents (a learning resource, flyer, website to know, etc). During the resource exchange, we'll rotate through small groups with featuring one-minute resource demonstrations or pitches and group discussion. To participate, indicate interest upon registration. This is an optional, low stakes way to share your expertise and wisdom with this network.
The DC Public Library encourages people with disabilities to participate in our programs, services, and Board of Trustees meetings.
