Design for the Petworth Library renovation is complete, and we’re getting ready to begin construction. Preview the upcoming improvements and meet the design and construction team at this open house!
The project will reconfigure the library’s layout and upgrade its systems to better serve the community. The new design thoughtfully and cohesively re-envisions the library’s furniture, finishes, and material palette, along with improved power, data, and lighting.
Once construction begins, Adult and Youth Services will be located on separate floors—Adult Services will move to the Upper Level, and Teen Services to the Ground Level. The renovation will also bring new flooring, wallcoverings, and furniture throughout, along with acoustical panels, improved signage, a new water bottle refill station, selected window replacements, and an upgraded Building Automation System (BAS).
