Friends of Shepherd Park Library presents Kyla Sommers, author of When the Smoke Cleared, a powerful account of D.C.'s 1968 uprisings. Now a GWU adjunct law professor and editor at American Oversight, Sommers will discuss “Then and Now: Federal Oversight in the Federal City,” exploring parallels between past and present in the District.
