Discover the fascinating history of the Native American tribes who lived in the District
Long before Washington, D.C. was founded, Native American tribes lived in the area. They had villages, quarries, and burial grounds throughout the District. Independent local historian Dr. Armand Lione will present the stories of the Anacostans and other tribes who were here and why their histories are important from his 2023 book Native American History of Washington, DC.
Copies of the book are available to check out from the library.
