Explore DC Public Library on your bike!
Come join the fun at our sixteenth annual bike ride.
Library staff have discovered a great way to explore the DC Public Library: by bike! The Tour de DCPL was born in 2010, a free community bike ride that visits a selection of our 26 library locations. Every year to celebrate National Bike Month, a group of library staff, advocates, and community members gear up to show riders around the city...and around the library system!
This year's Tour de DCPL will take place on Sunday, May 11 at 1 p.m. (registration opens at 12:30 p.m. and the ride starts at 1 p.m.). The tour will visit five locations and ride across the National Mall. We will kick off at the Tenley-Friendship Library and end at the beautifully renovated Southwest Library. Tour de DCPL is a no-drop ride -- library staff and ride marshals will accompany the group to make sure no one gets left behind. This year's ride will be about 11 miles long with two or three moderate hills.
Riders will be able to enjoy refreshments and pick up some DC Public Library swag as we explore some of our most beloved locations.
Register for Tour de DCPL today! Limited walk-up spots will be available on the day of the ride, so registration is highly recommended.
Registration opens at 12:30 p.m. and the ride starts at 1 p.m.
