The DC Public Library is excited to partner with The Georgetown-Howard Center for Medical Humanities and Health Justice for a panel discussion on navigating our right to quality health care.
We invite you to an engaging discussion on the importance of women's health and lore at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library. Through the New York Times bestseller Grown Women Talk: Your Guide to Getting and Staying Healthy , this event will explore how lore influences personal health decisions and the role that patient and caregiver narratives can play in navigating our right to quality healthcare.
Some topics include personal health stories and advocacy; family history and experiences; generational shifts in how we view health; aging and disease; preparing for illness, and much more.
Pre-signed copies of Grown Women Talk: Your Guide to Getting and Staying Healthy will be provided. Select the "Complimentary Book" add-on at registration.
For reasonable accommodations, please contact the Center for Accessibility at 202-727-2142 or DCPLaccess@dc.gov. For ASL or tactile interpretation, please allow at least seven (7) days notice.
