Join Secret Planet Productions & the Mt Pleasant Library Friends for another free concert in Lamont Plaza!

Secret Planet Productions and the Mt. Pleasant Library friends present SOROCHE with special guests FANTAZMA and BONGO DISTRICT free in Lamont Plaza. LEON CITY SOUNDS will be spinning vinyl between sets and NANDO ÁLVAREZ will be running a free screenprinting station. 

SOROCHE blends cumbia, punk, ska, folk, and psychedelic sounds into an energetic, danceable mix. The band headlines the afternoon in celebration of its debut LP, Asesinostalgia.

BONGO DISTRICT brings together reggae, cumbia, ska, funk, and Latin rhythms in a high-energy sound the D.C. band describes as “Nomad Rhythms.” 

FANTAZMA is a Washington, D.C. post-hardcore punk trio combining heavy, unconventional rock with rhythms drawn from cumbia, salsa, rumba, and other Latin American musical traditions. 

LEON CITY SOUNDS is a D.C.-based DJ duo and vinyl selectors that dig deep into Peruvian cumbia, chicha, Jamaican ska, reggae, dub, rocksteady, and other tropical sounds from Latin America and the Caribbean.

We are also excited to offer FREE COMMUNITY POSTER SCREENPRINTING with local artist NANDO ÁLVAREZ, available while supplies last.

Come through and enjoy an afternoon of music with the neighborhood.

LEON CITY SOUNDS will start at 3 pm and will spin between bands. 

Bands will begin around 4 pm. FANTAZMA will start, followed by BONGO DISTRICT and then SOROCHE.

BONGO DISTRICT combina reggae, cumbia, ska, funk y ritmos latinos en un sonido vibrante que la banda de Washington D.C. describe como "Ritmos Nómadas".

FANTAZMA es un trío de post-hardcore punk de Washington D.C. que combina rock pesado y poco convencional con ritmos de cumbia, salsa, rumba y otras tradiciones musicales latinoamericanas.

LEON CITY SOUNDS es un dúo de DJs y selectores de vinilos de Washington D.C. que exploran a fondo la cumbia peruana, la chicha, el ska jamaicano, el reggae, el dub, el rocksteady y otros sonidos tropicales de Latinoamérica y el Caribe.
