Join us for an author talk on the neighborhood of Tenleytown that will connect the local to the global and the past to the present.
Mark Fitzgerald will present on his book Spies, Bombs, and Beyond: A Walking History of Washington DC’s Tenleytown, in which he explores 70 neighborhood sites to reveal how Tenleytown and its environs have offered a microcosm of the nation's history, examining how locations such as nearby embassies and the residences of ambassadors and traitors connect to broader questions of how diplomacy works and how espionage (sometimes) fails -- and more.
Copies of his book will be available for purchase and signing after his discussion.
This event is supported by the Friends of the Tenley-Friendship Neighborhood Library and the Tenleytown Historical Society.
