Join in the retelling of "Mufaro's Beautiful Daughters" in celebration of Black History Month
Participants will read and act out Mufaro's Beautiful Daughters: An African Tale by John Steptoe (also available in eBook).
In this story, Mufaro has two beautiful daughters. Nyasha is kind and Manyara is selfish. In the hopes of marrying the king, both daughters travel to the capital though only one will be chosen. The king decides to choose the bride who is The Most Worthy and Beautiful in the Land.
This event celebrates Black History Month, Beyond the Book, and Winter Challenge and is intended for children 5-8 (and their engaged adults).
A craft project will follow the story.
