Celebrate the sounds of Go-Go as well as our new Beyond the Book Title, We Are Water Protectors during this FREE day of family fun!

Join us in creating lasting memories as we celebrate the love of books and the vibrant spirit of D.C.'s iconic Go-Go scene. It's a day of family fun, literary exploration, and rhythmic delight. Kraken Kourts & Skates, the 70,000 square foot venue, features a roller skating rink, pickleball courts, ping pong, cornhole, and giant Jenga. It is a child’s dream place to play! Live performances by Backyard Band and RCA Band. Hosted by DJ Rico.

And for another touch of DC magic - The Commanders game will be shown on all of Kraken's ten TV's!

About the Bands

Backyard also known as BYB is one of the most successful and widely known Go-Go band in the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia area as well as nationwide. The band core members have been a group for 30 years with only a few additions over time. They gained their start and edgy sound of rock inspired music in the streets of Washington, DC beating on buckets. All after, Backyard has gone on to be one of the highly anticipated and requested bands in the Washington, DC metro area with consistent shows 3 to 4 days a week as well as many invitations to perform in front of the areas elite. They have produced 5 albums with one album “Hood Related” debuting at 69 on the billboard chart.

Red Carpet Affair (RCA) are the winners of the inaugural class of Making of the Go-Go Band from DC Public Library.
