Join us in vestibule of the MLK Library as we introduce Goodmaps, a wayfinding app to make MLK Library more accessible
Join us October 18th and 19th for a special event launching Goodmaps, a wayfinding app for your mobile phone or iPad to help any visitor, especially blind and low vision library patrons, navigate the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library building more independently. Find the nearest restroom, meeting space, or department you want to visit and navigate there with a responsive, accessible app!
To celebrate this launch, we are hosting special tours to help you learn how it works within the MLK Library building. The tours will take place October 18th and 19th at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m.
Come to as many tours as you wish- no registration required! Tours are first-come, first-served and will meet in the vestibule of the MLK Library.
Get a preview of how Goodmaps works with this YouTube video, or visit us in person to try it out! The app is live now in the Apple and Android stores under "Goodmaps Explore" and works throughout our building with a camera-enabled iPhone, Android phone, or iPad.
If you need ASL interpretation, CART, or other reasonable accommodation for a tour, contact us by email at DCPLaccess@dc.gov or call 202-727-2142 at least one week in advance.
