The tips and tools you pick up in this workshop will help you feel good about the decisions you make about how to pay for college. Through Tzedek DC you’ll learn about the difference between federal and private student loans, the types of repayment options, and the possibilities for loan forgiveness. You’ll also learn how to keep your borrowing low, how to best position yourself to pay back loans in the future, and what to do when you can’t pay back because of financial hardship.

First come, first serve. Registration is encouraged but not required. Se habla español.

Los consejitos y las herramientas que adquirirás en este taller te ayudarán a sentirte bien con respecto a las decisiones que tomes sobre cómo pagar por tu educación universitaria. A través de Tzedek DC aprenderás cuál es la diferencia entre los préstamos estudiantiles privados y los federales, las distintas opciones de pago, y la posibilidad de la condonación de deudas. También aprenderás cómo tomar lo mínimo prestado, cómo posicionarte para pagar los préstamos en el futuro, y qué puedes hacer si no puedes pagarlos debido a dificultades financieras.
